HCMUTE is the first university in VietNam to enroll students in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence major.
First enrollment cohort: 2019

Current enrollment: 212 students. The entrance score is consistently at the top among leading universities

Training Objective: Developing a skilled workforce of engineers in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence to meet the growing demands of the job market in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Graduates are expected to gain a strong theoretical foundation along with hands-on experience in key areas of the industry, including robotic control systems, machine learning, deep learning, embedded system and 3D virtual reality systems.
Specific program objectives (POs):
PO 1: Equip graduates with the technical knowledge and skills in robotics, artificial intelligence, and related fields, enabling them to excel in careers across industries such as automation, manufacturing, healthcare, and research.
PO 2: Inspire graduates to pursue entrepreneurial ventures or leadership roles, where they can develop AI-driven robotic applications, contribute to technological innovation, and drive business growth in the tech sector.
PO 3: Cultivate an understanding of the ethical, societal, and environmental impacts of robotics and AI technologies, encouraging graduates to apply their skills responsibly to benefit society and address global challenges.
PO 4: Prepare graduates to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to collaborative projects in research, development, and real-world applications of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Expected learning outcomes (ELOs):
On successful completion of this program, graduates will be able to:
ELO 1: Apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools in mathematics, engineering and sciences to effectively solve technical problems in the field of robotics and AI in a professional manner.
ELO 2: Design robotic systems, AI applications that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
ELO 3: Communicate effectively with a range of audiences, within technical and office settings
ELO 4: Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
ELO 5: Function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
ELO 6: Acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
ELO 7: Recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
ELO 8: Operate and optimize robotic and AI systems.
