On the morning of December 16th, 2017, the Wrap-up and award ceremony of the National Contest of Scientific Research by Students Award 2017. 

The award of “Scientifc Research by Students” was organized by the the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Youth Union and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association  and hosted at HCMUTE.

In 2017 there were 336 most excellent research projects shortlisted for the award, which were selected from thousands of research works by students from 77 universities and institutes in the country. The topics focused on 6 fields: Natural Science, Engineering and Technology Science, Medical Science, Agricultural Science, Social Sciences and Humanities.

Based on the assessment of the specialized Science committees in accordance with the award criteria through the preliminary rounds to the final, the results came out with 9 first prizes, 46 second prizes, 88 third prizes, and 106 consolation prizes.

09 first prizes went to students teams from the HCMC University of Technology, International University – HCM  National University, Foreign Trade University, HCMC Open University, Ha Noi University of Education, Vietnam Military Medical Institute, HCMUTE, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, National Economics University.

Among the 9 projects honored with the first prizes this year is eating-aid equipment for eldlerly people and Parkinson patients of HCMUTE team (including Tran Tan Thanh, La Hoang Thang, Nguyen An Duy, Ngo Xuan Cuong). 

Prior to the wrap-up ceremony, the MOET organized the exhibition for research by students to introduce the study results of the projects selected for the final round and the seminar of Scientific Research by Students, the final round of the automatic water puppet contest, etc. in order to create the conditions for students from different institutions to exchange ideas and experience and learn and kindle the interest in research among students.
