The Machine Manufacturing Technology (MMT) program was founded under the bricks of the Machine Tool program in 1976 with highly experienced faculties such as Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Can, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Ran, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Ngoc Thuc, Dr. Do Duc Tuy as core peoples. Currently, in the MMT department, there are three associate professors, two doctors and many others associate professors and doctors who are working in different functional offices. All young lecturers have completed their master degree.

Course syllabi have been built for all the teaching subjects based on the CDIO approach. Many subjects have textbooks that have been published by Vietnam National University Press and Science and Technics Publishing House. With numerous different types of machine and machine tools, students of the MMT program have many hours of practicing and training and obtain a lot of experiences for working with mechanical manufacturing processes after graduation. In addition, a project of machine manufacturing technology which has a wide range of knowledge is assigned to students of the MMT program to help every student for not being at fault in their first moments at work places.
